Go ahead and stare the user interface of the Windows Phone 7 Series deserves it. That’s the reaction of people at Mobile World Conference in Barcelona. This new holistic design system that brings together form and function based on key principles – informing every aspect of the phone.

I like the typography and clean intuitive rich User interface which creates the simplicity feeling and unrivaled mobile experience. With a holistic design that brings together web content, applications and services into a single view, phones worships you now, not the other way around.

I like to play with this phone in hand to see the real time experience and how the form factor and performance is?

Abstract UI: beautiful User interface for mobile

Another beautiful User interface for mobile by TAT, experimental but displaying information in beautiful ways is a huge challenge! Look in to the above video, you will know why i am speaking about it 😉 Day by day data visualization is getting big in picture and many ways to look around them. Here we also need to put our thoughts on how we can make complex things simple to the user. It doesn’t matter what technologies we are using it ultimately final user experience matters a lot.

“We are used to busy idle screens. Information such as missed calls, received messages, widgets on top of your customizable background wallpaper is all trying to get your attention. This is a new take where we go from very precise information to the idle screen as an entity, an abstract map of information. The idle screen will paint and evolve during the day and once you’ve learned its language you will get a whole lot of information just by giving it a glance.”

information is beautiful 🙂

Outside: a new weather apps for mobile, executed beautiful user interface

iphone weather apps

iphone weather apps

Tons of weather app out there and if you like to get notice you definitely need to design with the fresh approach with beautiful User Interface.
Outside is just beautiful in terms of impeccable attention in visual design as well as interaction design. When i saw first time there video have one words, wow! I really love this 🙂

Their human-centric approach manifests itself mostly in the importance they place on user-defined notifications based on certain conditions. What’s so wonderful about this is that this is the kind of stuff that you really care about 90% of the time – weather changes that will affect your behavior. via everydayux

actface Rhythm: Mobile interface design “experience it”

I’ve recently stumbled upon an interesting interface design by teamlab, the way they designed and looked into the natural dynamics of touch interface is amazing. I liked it personally very much such an amazingly rich, engaging experience that’s just bursting with possibility for further creativity. 🙂

“Actface” is a mobile device designed to create new contents using meta information of users behaviors.”

“Actface Rhythm is not a phone designed to produce music, but a phone that produces an internal rhythm, a moving image that is produced through the everyday use and the rhythm of pressing the keys. We regularly press keys to make a call, and to send a mail, and we considered this to be a natural rhythm. We designed actface Rhythm’s interface to produce an ink painting world that is created by the user, and as the phone is used the ink painting continues to develop and move with the rhythm you create.”

MAX Award winners QNX Video, the interface is based on Flash Lite 3.1

Via Mark, The LTE Connected Car is a platform for in-car entertainment, navigation, management and services. At MAX 2009 QNX won the mobile and devices award because of their excellence in working with the Flash Platform. Working with the geniuses at Alcatel Lucent QNX have enabled LTE connectivity (read: 4G) into the car to prep for a future of wireless networking at 100x the bandwidth of 3G (100Mbps in theory).
The platform interface is based on Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 running on the RTOS QNX platform with all manner of extensions for GPS, Bluetooth, video playback and even integration into the dashboard.

I hope people will have an awesome experience in the car with new interface design and your car will be always connected 😀

Intel set-top box running Flash Lite 3.1

Via Serge Jespers, Intel’s Developer Forum Engadget recorded a demo of an Intel (an Open Screen Project partner) based set-top box running a Flash based user interface and Flash based applications. The heart of this set-top box is Intel’s CE 3100 Media Processor which according to Engadget “combines an 800MHz Pentium M core with a proprietary video processing core all on one chip. That’s about as much power as a 1.2GHz Atom”.

The video demonstrates the Flash UI on top of a Linux operating system. It shows how you can add Flash based applications on top of a video signal coming from the tuner and run full screen Flash based applications. The future is bright for the Flash Platform! Flash on!

Looks like an early stage development, and lot of work is required in User interface to make them smart!!.

Actface Rhythm: Mobile Interface design

Act face is a mobile device interface designed by “Teamlab” to create new contents using meta information of users behaviors.!
Some user behaviors like:

  • You become addicted to your mobile device, As its screen changes and as you use it more, it adapts to your situation.
  • You feel good touching your mobile device, Simply pressing the keys is fun in itself, And you keep wanting more. You start to enjoy the interaction with your mobile device, And it changes the purpose of using the phone, just touching the phone brings you enjoyment.
  • How many times will you open it. To see if any changes have occurred Will you ever be able to let go of your phone?…
  • You feel good touching your mobile phone, everyday use of your phone become a rhythm, a phone with a surface of rhythmic ink painting.

Concept:
Actface Rhythm is not a phone designed to produce music, but a phone that produces an internal rhythm, a moving image that is produced through the everyday use and the rhythm of pressing the keys. We regularly press keys to make a call, and to send a mail, and we considered this to be a natural rhythm. We designed actface Rhythm’s interface to produce an ink painting world that is created by the user, and as the phone is used the ink painting continues to develop and move with the rhythm you create.

“This is not just a new screen design, By adding a secondary purpose in using the phone, we have experimented in a new style of interaction between human and mobile devices.”

Very interesting concept !!

3D Eyetracking UI

Wow, i just love this User Interface and i must say it’s beautifully Crafted.

“What if the graphics on your mobile seemed to have real depth? Imagine tilting your mobile so you can look around corners and behind objects in the GUI to access additional information. Imagine layered GUIs where pop-up windows really pop up. With eye-tracking and the real 3D capabilities of Cascades, this is now possible.”

Design Considerations for Touch UI – Visualized

Designers at Punchcut prepared this video to illustrate the thinking about touch UI design. Designing for touch-based mobile user interfaces requires new thinking and an expanded design vocabulary. I am really excited and have copuple of plans for experiments with touch UI which i will update here soon. 🙂

Some important snippets are:

  • Design for immediate access
  • Keep gestures smart and simple
  • Leverage clear mental models
  • Design for real hand sizes
  • Touch feedback is key
