We really need to understand that the essence of great mobile application design is understanding that a phone is always with you &#8211; not that its simply a smaller device.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the points which a developer or designer should consider:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re realizing is that the key item of concern when designing for mobile is the context in which the device is used. What this means is that discussions of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153PC\u00e2\u20ac\u009d versus \u00e2\u20ac\u0153mobile\u00e2\u20ac\u009d are misguided, because we shouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be focusing on the device. We are not designing for mobile \u00e2\u20ac\u201d we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re designing for mobility. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A key characteristic of mobility is that the environment around the user is dynamic \u00e2\u20ac\u201d they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re walking, driving, on transit, in restaurants, theaters, offices, moving from place to place, context to context.
