Video: Adobe Device Central CS5 Sneak Peek

Dale’s posted a new sneak peak video of the new features in Adobe Device Central CS5.Few important thing as collected from scott:

  • ADC is not just for mobile phones, it also supports other devices such as those that are in the Adobe Digital Home realm (e.g. TV’s, set top boxes).
  • Supports community sharing of profiles. Community, Private, and Adobe Certified are all different types of profiles a developer can be using now, as well as sharing with other developers during project development.
  • Accelerometer for testing against devices that support that sensor.
  • GPS sensor panel.
  • Multi-touch panel.
  • “Dockable UI” just like in other CS products (e.g. Flash). Workspaces are also supported.
  • Fireworks is now part of the ADC work-flow (BTW: Fireworks is being picked up for mobile design across various device platforms, even iPhone!).

Forum Nokia released Flash Lite Components v1.0 beta

Forum Nokia released the first set of mobile optimized components “Flash Lite Components v1.0 beta” The components come as installable .mxp files with instructions and full source code.

“This resource file includes six Flash Lite components; Button component, Contacts component, List component, Media data component, Popup component, and Scrollbar component. The components can be used to develop applications to devices supporting Flash Lite 2.0.”

Video: Opera Mobile 9.7 with Opera Turbo and Flash lite support

Opera announced the new Opera Mobile 9.7 server-accelerated browser for smartphones and mobile devices. Opera Mobile 9.7 features Opera Turbo, Opera’s breakthrough compression technology, along with the company’s latest Presto 2.2 rendering engine (also used in Opera 10 desktop) and full support for dynamic Web technologies such as Ajax and Flash (for accessing popular sites like Facebook and YouTube).

Opera Mobile 9.7 will be officially available for download in the first half of 2009.

Kuneri released SWFPack, a Flash Lite packager

Kuneri released SWFPack which is available as a beta service for Flash Lite developers without a cost. With the first release, Flash Lite content can be deployed to Symbian devices in SIS format, followed by Series 40 devices in NFL and Windows Mobile devices in CAB formats in the following releases. Kuneri aims to make SWFPack a standard tool, providing more enhanced features in the future.
