Via Bill, Microsoft has licensed Flash Lite 3 and Reader LE for future Windows Mobile based devices and adds another supported platform for Flash developers to reach consumers. Flash Lite 3 will be pre-installed in the Internet Explorer Mobile browser on future Windows Mobile devices and will allow consumers with these devices to enjoy the same web experiences anywhere they are. In addition to Flash Lite, Reader LE will be pre-installed to allow consumers to open and view PDF documents while they’re away from their computer, increasing productivity and enhancing the enterprise workflow. Adding the Windows Mobile platform is important for our developers to expand the reach of their applications to more consumers.

Intresting news are coming up from everywhere that Adobe’s Flash lite Not Suited For IPhone, Apple CEO Steve Jobs Says!! as he put it on Tuesday, Apple’s iPhone, with all its cutting-edge mobile Internet trickery, needs something much better than the current Flash player that Adobe makes for cellphones. The Flash Player option that fits the bill is made for devices like laptops that are larger than the iPhone; as a consequence, it performs too slowly on the iPhone.
“There’s this missing product in the middle,” Jobs said.

I found an intresting post via Electronic Frontier Foundation that “Now Adobe, which controls Flash and Flash Video, is trying to change that with the introduction of DRM restrictions in version 9 of its Flash Player and version 3 of its Flash Media Server software. Instead of an ordinary web download, these programs can use a proprietary, secret Adobe protocol to talk to each other, encrypting the communication and locking out non-Adobe software players and video tools. We imagine that Adobe has no illusions that this will stop copyright infringement — any more than dozens of other DRM systems have done so — but the introduction of encryption does give Adobe and its customers a powerful new legal weapon against competitors and ordinary users through the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).”
Intresting !!
