DeviceAnywhere users now have access to next generation Japanese Mobile Devices

DeviceAnywhere

DeviceAnywhere users now have access to next generation Japanese Mobile Devices across four japanese mobile networks. DeviceAnywhere, today launched DeviceAnywhere Japan. DeviceAnywhere Japan was launched in response to increasing demand from Japan-based customers and other global organizations interested in extending their mobile applications to the Japanese marketplace. This extended service currently includes 30 Japanese handsets covering major mobile operators, including NTT DoCoMo, Softbank, Willcom and KDDI.

What is DeviceAnywhere?

A revolutionary online service that provides access to more than 1000 real handsets, on live worldwide mobile networks, remotely over the Internet, meeting all development, porting, testing, and monitoring needs. Unlike emulator/simulator-based solutions, DeviceAnywhere employs real, physical handsets – so, anything that a user can do with a device in his/her hand, he/she can do with the handsets in DeviceAnywhere – in real-time. This includes tasks such as pressing device buttons, tapping on touch screens, connecting/disconnecting the battery, viewing the LCD, listening to ringers and speakers, and opening/closing a handset.

Something really great, it was my great experience when i got engaged with DeviceAnywhere and my only curiosity with Japanese devices  which i asked for and finally i see it 🙂 love to test my flash lite content on Japanese phones soon.

Equipped with ‘Movement Tracking System’, a device which allows parents to track the location of their children from their mobile phone or PC whenever a warning buzzer is sounded or when the child’s phone is switched off. This system also has automatic camera and phone functions, further allowing parents to confirm a child’s location through sound and images.

Nokia N95 just got Flash Lite 3/Web runtime firmware update

Nokia N95 firmware update

Nokia N95 just got its Flash Lite 3/Web runtime firmware update. Although not as big an update as v20 was (which introduced demand paging and transformed the speed of the device, remember), v21.0.016 is still a major firmware and well worth installing.

What’s new in v21.0.016:

  • Flash Lite 3 is included, so Flash video sites will work, including YouTube (just as on the N95 8GB v15 firmware from a couple of months ago)
  • The Web runtime is included, meaning that standalone widgets are now possible
    Greater Bluetooth headset compatibility
  • Better handling of entering lots of text into web page dialogs
  • Speedier Gallery in every way
  • Faster Java runtime

apple, iphone

Intresting news are coming up from everywhere that Adobe’s Flash lite Not Suited For IPhone, Apple CEO Steve Jobs Says!! as he put it on Tuesday, Apple’s iPhone, with all its cutting-edge mobile Internet trickery, needs something much better than the current Flash player that Adobe makes for cellphones. Silverlight on Nokia – What It Means for Flash Lite Developers

 silverlight-flash

A nice post via bill comparing “Silverlight on Nokia – What It Means for Flash Lite Developers” Bill gives some thoughts and views how a developer can be effected or may be intrested using new technologies and what kind of strategy Adobe is applying to promote Flash lite. a long way to go.

Some of the points:

If you’re a mobile developer or business decision maker considering any technology for mobile development then there are questions that you should have:

  • What’s the addressable market supporting the technology
  • What’s the designer/developer workflow
  • What tools do I need
  • Can I leverage my skills or do I need to learn new ones
  • How do I distribute my content
  • Is the content inside/outside the mobile browser
  • What’s the developer community like
  • Can I reuse assets from the web
  • Can this technology allow me to have a multi-screen experience

Well!! i love Adobe Flash lite and it really gives me more ways to express my creativity which i love it 🙂 not sure how silverlight will be promising to me!!
