Adobe and HTC, a global designer of mobile phones, today announced that the new HTC Hero is the first Android phone to ship with support for Adobe Flash Platform technology. The new phone delivers a more complete Web browsing experience and provides access to a broad variety of Flash technology based content available on the Web today.
“As the first Android device with Flash, the new HTC Hero represents a key milestone for Android and the Flash Platform. With close to 80 percent of all videos online delivered with Adobe Flash technology, consumers want to access rich Web content on-the-go.†said David Wadhwani, vice president and general manager, Platform Business Unit at Adobe.
“The collaboration with HTC offers people a more complete Flash based Web browsing experience today and presents an important step towards full Web browsing with Flash Player 10 on mobile phones in the future.â€
Apple iPhone is still missing Flash Player and wish to have it soon.

Recently Adaptive put up a micro reports on understanding of how rural people in India uses mobile technologies. “Mobile Literacy” is a design and research project to understand how mobile technology can work more effectively in emerging markets. Adaptive Path went to rural India to investigate the impact of mobile technology and developed concepts for new mobile devices for this market.

Adobe today announced the extension of the Adobe Flash Platform to connected digital home devices with an optimized implementation of Flash technology that delivers high definition (HD) video and rich applications to Internet-connected televisions, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and other devices in the digital living room.
The Adobe Flash Platform for the Digital Home now enables the delivery of HD Web videos to digital home devices via the Flash Video (FLV) file format. Consumers will be able to enjoy rich, interactive viewing experiences and amazing new ways to engage with HD content on televisions. Flash technology-based applications will allow users to quickly switch between television programming and Web content outside the Web browser.“Adobe Flash Platform for the Digital Home will dramatically change the way we view content on televisions,†said David Wadhwani, general manager and vice president, Platform Business Unit at Adobe. “Consumers are looking to access their favorite Flash technology-based videos, applications, services and other rich Web content across screens. Guten Touch is an interactive art installation “Designed for the Red Bull Music Academy 08” that involves people into a natural relationship with technology. A two projected displays system plus a 3m x 2m multitouch wall showcase applications designed to engage us into human friendly experiences. Space Invaders hitted by foam balls, pixel paintings created with brushes, and digital objects held by hands try to blur boundaries between real and digital.
I really love this project and the way they expreimented and created relationships with human and technology 🙂
