There are various reasons for creating prototypes.

  • Prototypes make your designs better
  • Prototypes facilitate communication
  • Prototypes enable user input and usability assessment
  • Prototypes help assess technical feasibility and reduce development time

“Call it serendipity or even luck, but once you start drawing or making things, you open up new possibilities of discovery.”

Video: Introduction to Adobe’s mobile packager

A step by step video tutorial of Adobe’s mobile packager for distributing your Flash lite content by Serge Jespers.
“you can now package your application using the Mobile Packager and distribute your application as an SIS-file for Symbian S60 or CAB-file for Window Mobile phones. Your users can now download and install your Flash based application on their mobile device just like any other application they install. What’s even cooler is that we also package a Flash Version Checker together with your application. As soon as the user launches the application, the Flash Version Checker is going to check if the Flash Player is installed and if it is the correct version. If not, it’s going to download and install the Flash Lite runtime seamlessly.”

Unfortunately this packager works only on Windows and i hope adobe may release Mac version soon!!!

Very cool.

Microsoft’s announced new version of Windows Mobile with Adobe Flash lite 3.1

Microsoft’s announced at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona that newer version of Windows Mobile is with adobe Flash Lite 3.1

“What people really want is PC-style browsing on the phone. … There’s all these stats whereby if you tell users, go to the most popular sites and do something, they have this success and failure rate of whether they can do it on different mobile smart phones. With Internet Explorer, our rendering, how the UI looks, it is much more accurate to the PC because it’s the PC browser.”

“Then, by including Flash Lite in there, it also helps if you have a Flash site. Some of them use Flash actually as core navigation and functionality. So it’s not all eye candy. If you go to a site like that, at least you can go find the information and interact with it. The bigger news isn’t about Flash Lite, the bigger news is about getting PC-quality browsing on your phone.”
