YouTube launches Mobile Portal for all kind of Mobile Phones

 youtube mobile

YouTube released its mobile portal which is available now for all WAP 2.0 devices with an included 3GPP video player. Unlike the web version, which is using Flash videos, the mobile version encodes videos in the 3GPP standard.
While mostly all 3G/UMTS devices supports 3GPP as well as 3GPP is the standard for video MMS.

Surprisingly why no Flash?? May be will update soon.

  1. YouTube is now using 3 different video formats for their website? They have flv for their main main site, 3GPP now for their mobile site and soon h264 for Apple TV/iPhones. That must be a hassle encoding 3 different formats or they just select certain content to display for the different devices.

  2. i have a problem i can enter perfect on the site but wen the real player starts it just sais connecting for about 2 minutes and then unable to connect to server, connection timed-out. By the way i have a Nokia N73! pls Help
